About Summer Sessions
Summer Sessions are offered to students wishing to study in the USA or Canada for a semester in the summer time. The "sessions" are compressed mostly into five or six-week programs.
In Germany the most recognized and popular Summer Session universities are Boston and the different universities of California (UC), for example UC Berkeley and UCLA. However, Hawai’i Pacific University in Honolulu or Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, on the Canadian east coast are both internationally recognized and offer an ample variety of courses of study.
Summer Courses
The Summer Sessions offer hundreds of courses each year from the regular course study programs offered during the normal academic year. The courses range from introductory lecture courses to specialized seminar courses designed for advanced students.
Target groups and requirements
The Summer Sessions, offering a wide spectrum of different courses, are offered to international students from basically every education background- from high school students to graduates to working professionals. In some cases, German upper level students (Schüler) also have the opportunity to participate in the Summer Sessions at some universities.
