City Profile Honolulu
Honolulu is the capital of Hawaii and situated on the southern banks of Oahu Island. The city and its surroundings have nearly 900 000 inhabitants from the whole Pacific area and there is no ethnic majority but a diverse mixture of Western, Polynesian and Asian influences. Being the only tropical city of the USA, Honolulu offers long sandy beaches, palm trees, mild average temperatures of 27 °C, exotic fruit and a lot more. Starting from here, you can easily reach all of Hawaii´s islands for an excursion. Honolulu is one of the cities with the cleanest air in the world, but in spite of that it offers all advantages of a metropolis. The nightlife with bars and clubs is very busy, but there are also a lot of cultural possibilities such as a trip to the Contemporary Museum of Arts or the Bishop Museum which are worth seeing. Sports are very popular in Hawaii, and important events like the Ironman Triathlon or the Triple Crown of Surfing take place here. Homepage of the City of Honolulu
